My Riders Statement:

Since the age of eight, I’ve enjoyed the intensity of competitive sports. My first national competitions, however, were not in snowboarding, but rather gymnastics. Flipping above gymnastics bars and beams, I built a foundation of skills that would soon jump-start my competitive snowboarding. Essentially, I learned to fly, and loved the feeling.

Unlike most competitive snowboarders, I’ve excelled in the sport without living in the mountains. I grew up in a small town 15 minutes from San Francisco with my three younger brothers and supportive parents. Although I have only slept there three days this year, “Home is where the heart is”!

Another important focus of my life is my academics. I work hard to maintain academic rigor in all of my subjects, even as I travel in and out of the country to all sorts of snowboarding competitions. This year, as a junior, I took the SATs early. I am now focused on completing my college applications as I train hard for the season's first World Cup contest, in New Zealand. My goals this year are to improve my World Ranking in the halfpipe and to get accepted at an elite University. I believe that with dedication and hard work, I can achieve both.

I am so blessed to be able to go after everything that I love so much!
